Sebastian "Stecyk" Steć is a musician and artist, recognized as one of the pioneers of the Polish ska scene and co-founder of several bands, such as Dirty Flower, Skankan, Horrorshow, and Ziggie Piggie.
In addition to his musical career, Stecyk is passionate about graphic art, particularly poster design, creating works in a distinctive style he coined Popmorphing. As Stecyk himself describes, Popmorphing is "a step beyond Pop Art and Xenomorphing," showcasing his versatility as an artist. His innovative approach has been recognized through various accolades, including winning the graphic competition "Światło". His exhibitions have garnered increasing attention, solidifying his status in the visual arts world. He is bringing some new graphics and posters in the Popmorphing style specifically for this exhibition at Club Ø.
He has collaborated with musical icons like Robert Brylewski, the band Izrael, and Kryzys. His work extends beyond ska, delving into various musical genres, including electronic music with the project STC Tabako, where he worked alongside jazz legend Robert Majewski. Stecyk's career has been featured in a TVP documentary, and he also appeared in the global ska culture film "SkaDelight". Stecyk is also the creator and host of the radio show "Stecyk na fali" on Zagłębie FM. He made his acting debut in the film "As" (2016), and in 2018, he launched the project Dr Micoolstein & Prof. STC, whose experimental jazz-electronic single "Open Lab" premiered on Jazz TV. In 2020, Stecyk was nominated for Personality of the Year, securing second place in Dziennik Zachodni's "Personality of the Year" competition in the Culture category.
